Lithium-ion isn't one chemistry. Residential storage mostly uses LiFePO4 (LFP) or NMC, each with distinct trade-offs for safety, longevity, and energy density.
Safety profile
LiFePO4 is widely regarded as more thermally stable, which is why it's dominant in fixed home installs. NMC packs more energy per kilogram, useful for portable products.
